North West Breeze was contracted to perform professional air duct cleaning at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Salem, Oregon. As a full-service hotel with hundreds of guest rooms, conference facilities, and dining areas, the property relies on a large commercial HVAC system to maintain comfortable indoor temperatures and air quality year-round. Our team was brought in to address years of accumulated dust, debris, and contaminants throughout the ductwork.

Internal branch ductwork serving individual zones of the hotel had some of the thickest buildup we encountered. The before photo shows layers of compacted debris that had been restricting airflow for an extended period. After treatment, the duct interior is fully clear.
Our Process On-Site
We followed our standard commercial duct cleaning protocol, adapted for the hotel's operational requirements:
- Pre-job inspection — assessed all accessible duct runs, identified problem areas, and coordinated access with hotel facilities management
- Zone-by-zone cleaning — worked floor by floor to minimize disruption to guests and hotel operations
- High-powered vacuum + agitation — used truck-mounted equipment with mechanical brush tools to dislodge and extract debris from duct walls
- Sanitization treatment — applied antimicrobial solution to duct interiors to inhibit microbial growth
- Post-cleanup inspection — verified all runs were clean with visual checks and before/after photo documentation
Outcomes
The DoubleTree by Hilton Salem saw immediate improvements following the cleaning. Airflow volume increased noticeably across multiple zones, and the hotel's HVAC system was able to reach target temperatures more efficiently.
